christmas is COMING!!!
and we're on the eve of the eve of christmas. Time really flews when you are just so busy with your work.
okas I'm not THAT busy :D
and for the sake of this joyous season, I'm changing the color of this post to red :p
anyways Christmas is a time of giving and also a time of joy because even the youngest in your family would grin from ear to ear after he/she/it (haha!) received a present from someone (watch out for weird weird uncles in trench coats...)
and I supposed many would expect santa dropping down from the chimney and eating your cookies no matter how awfully made it was. Hope he doesn't have diarrhea after visiting your house though...
I personally don't really believe in santa mainly because, well, if he distributes the presents to every children by raindeer on christmas night, he would have been dead after the first city because in order to do that your sledge must travel at least 650 miles per second...and if he miraculously could do that, the reindeer couldn't.
even if he did, according to the stats, he's dead while 1 second.

and we have a WINNER!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! to the challenger, 2009, who emerge triumph over the current reigning champion, 2008, over a series of contest.
The man-of-the-next-year ran a 8760 hours marathon, did 525,600 push-ups and got himself a high score of 99.9% in a boxing match against our champion.
He is also said to have a better grasp of his future than the "former" champion, believing that what happened to 2008 is avoidable and should not happen to him, thus motivating him to run faster, hit harder than anyone else.
"He's(2008) tough, he's fast, he's furious and he's got punches that depresses and kicks that cause your wind fall out, but I somehow managed to dodge most of that and gives him a shot of my own. I was sure I was going to win." said 2009 in an interview after the boxing match.
2009 will be crowned champion on Jan 1.

Recollection of 2008
Well menz if you haven't realise, 2008 is coming to an end (eh don't blur leh, understand!?)
this year alone, I felt that I have grown so much. As in...
1) I started to care more for people
2) Learnt how to love at own expense
3) Learnt how to be sweet (and charming, because someone said sweet = charming :D)
4) Recognise the gifts that I have
5) Recognise some underlying problems in my life
6) Started to talk more to people
But most importantly...
7) I started to tell people what is going on in my life before I come to church and N339 (that's my cellgroup for YOU!!!)
I was very close up, simply because
1) Many doesn't understand what they are hearing
2) Many doesn't really care about the past
3) Felt its insignificant because the past is the past
4) No guts (act blur live longer...)
but then it caught up to me that what you experienced in the past could affect what you think or how you lead your life in the future. Recently I just "mini-exploded" on someone who likes to think that the world revolves around him and when things aren't going his way he's going to deceive himself that it is going his way.
Common grace at work, I would say...
and in 2008 I understood somethings like:
1) There are things you bring along with you as you grow up (mentioned above)
2) You do not have to scold/punish people in every situation when they do wrong, sometimes they just need a little more encouragement
3) It's your heart that thinks for you, not your campanions
4) The power of your tongue
I literally saw this coming to past many times. I would say something and it would happen later on. A good example is...I said "Let there be a prima cab or a maxi-cab" at a remote area at East Coast Rd where only buses 197, 196 would go through and lo and behold a prima cab appeared. But we did not board the cab because it cannot sit 6 people (we thought it could...)
5) The power of dreaming/vision
I was talking on the phone 1 day with weiying while she's going home from work. I literally saw in my mind that she was walking towards a corner flat and she entered the gates. And from there I saw her house, her room, her kitchen, toilet blah blah blah. I even knew she was changing her pants (I didn't see it but I heard it in my mind :D) I got proof...guys I got proof that what I saw was correct. surprisingly she wasn't as freaked out as I thought she would...
6) The power of prayer
I was sick (food poisoning >_<) so I decided to first think about what I normally would say "what can't kill you makes you stronger". So I stood on this thought and then I remembered God and His word concerning eating poisonous stuff and not dying from it. I asked God to help me to stop the vomitting (because I cannot tank puking) and I really did stop vommiting. I prayed for a few other things to happen on different occasions and they did. Praise God :D
7) The power of encouragement
I tried this on different occasions, once when someone is feeling dry in the Spirit and wished not to come back to church anymore. I SMSed her everyday to encourage her and let her feel positive about what is going on during that few weeks of examinations and in the end she came back and is still in church since then. PRAISE GOD!! :D
last but not least I remembered about the people around me that are significant in my life this year in no running order except the first:
1) God, who is always there to teach me stuff I never realised (though I might knew it long ago)
2) weiying, who, in the first place, taught me how to love people
3) Shirley, who tried to come into my life and I let her in on some stuff that I normally wouldn't even tell others
4) Peiting & Joanna, for your havocs in the cellgroup so I have more laughs than usual :D
5) Marcus, who is always telling lame jokes but still cares enough for you as a brother
6) Ashlynn, who taught me what does it mean by being a victim of your own mindset
7) Juliana, who sometimes accompany to go to church when she is off duty
8) Sau bing, who taught me the difference between knowing and experiencing generosity
9) All the pastors who preached to me, even though I may not be using all of your teachings in my life yet but it's good to know that there are somemore things for me to work on :)

it's packed with juicy interface and functions so you could use it to bribe those pesky ERP gantries, PK your bus fare and send SMRT a piece of your coins. Muahahaha...
and yes it still does what the mature (that means older, for you beloved fans with thinner dictionary) EZ-link card. HOORAY!!!
buh-bye cashcard...
BUT! apparently EZ-link got smarter. They got rid of the negative value capability (oh noes >_<) so you now MUST have exactly or more than what you are supposed to PAY UP FRONT. (bus stop woes incoming!!!) no more "top up later la...now so rush"
and our current cards are going to phase out in 18 months.
so the thing is, if I'm going out and then I for some nonsensical reason I forgot to top up my card and the nearest GTM is like halfway around Singapore or it's so packed of people (because the nearest is halfway around Singapore)? I got to call ghostbusters.
